Exterior

When we bought our second home the house was so over grown with plant life it was hard to see the charm and cute lines we knew this home had…. my husband and I spent countless hours landscaping and creating what we think is a nice update that brings out the charm to the exterior of our home!

First, we removed all of the bushes and tall trees from the  front including the climbing hydrangea that absolutely ruined the chimney….. TIP:  never plant climbing vegetation around your house, the roots absolutely will destroy any material it grips on too.  Any home inspector will tell you to remove it.

We brought in crushed sea shells to help break up the land and planting beds in the front along with gray pavers to create the divide and add interest.  We kept the Rhododendrons and gave them a hardy trim.  Planted many different perennials for color from spring through fall.  Added flower boxes for that additional charm and to pull the color up.

The chimney was repaired and painted 2 coats in a gray color DryLock  which seals and protects  – http://www.homedepot.com/p/DRYLOK-1-gal-Gray-Masonry-Waterproofer-27613/100165469.
